Russian meat and feed producer Cherkizovo Group has received permission to export poultry products to Iraq, from its Vasilyevskaya poultry farm. This was reported by the European Supermarket Magazine (ESM).

 

The Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture granted permission for the group to export its products to the country, provided all products meet strict halal guidelines. The slaughter facilities at the Vasilyevskaya poultry farm comply with these rules, according to certification from the Halal International Centre for Standardisation and Certification of the Council of Muftis of Russia.

Products set to exported by the group include the Latifa and Dajajti halal product ranges.

Cherkizovo Group also exports to Egypt, the UAE, Tanzania and the EU. Its Vasilievskaya poultry farm is located in the Penza region, some 600 km southeast of Moscow.
