‘Deep alarm’ has been expressedat progress on a Mercosur trade deal between the EU and South America, which includes proposals for a tariff rate quota for beef. ICSA president Patrick Kent has said its worst fears are beginning to crystallise with a proposal which he says would be utterly disastrous for the beef sector here.
