Hong Kong has suspended imports of poultry products from the Tyumen region

Kommersant-Ural, citing TASS, reports that the Hong Kong Food Safety Center (CFS) has banned the import of poultry and eggs from the Tyumen region because ofhighly virulent avian influenza A subtype H5 virus in the region. The decision was taken on the basis of the notification of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) about outbreaks of avian influenza. To date, it is known about 10 foci identified in four districts of the Tyumen region. Nine out of ten outbreaks occurred in poultry on private farms.
