CoBank Predicts Better Year for Livestock Producers in 2016

The supply glut that plagued US beef, pork and poultry markets in 2015 and ratcheted down margins is expected to ease in 2016, according to a new research report from CoBank. South Africa will be facing a disaster if it doesn’t rain by the end of December. Over the past year, El Niño has caused below average rainfall in many parts of the country, with some areas recording their lowest rainfall in fifty years. Dry climatic conditions is taking its toll on animal production and is threatening food security in the country. Glenneis Kriel reports.
