Approximately 100,000 pigs will be culled in Lviv, Ukraine, after African Swine Fever (ASF) was confirmed at a local farm in August, said the Ukrainian state veterinary service. Ukraine is about to lose 1.6% of its 6.4 million (1 August 2019 figure) pigs as a result of the outbreak. This figure is higher than the 72,226 pigs that the country culled due to 351 outbreaks ofASFat commercial farms and among wild boars since 2017, the state veterinary service estimated.
