The number of Russians who save on food increased to 24% over the last year, according to sociologists of the Romir center. More than on food, the Russians save on travel (29%). Sociologists have concluded that the Russians have returned to austerity. Only 17% of respondents reported that they are not saving anything (in 2016 there were 11%, in 2017 - 18%, and in 2018 - 24%). The number of savings increased for all expenses. According to the study, most Russians save on: traveling - 29% (12% in 2018), food - 24% (17% in 2018), clothes and shoes - (9% in 2018), entertainment - 22% (6% in 2018), delicacies - 20% (12% in 2018), restaurants - 15%.
