ASF Outbreak in Ukrainian Farms Kills Pigs Dr Andrii Zhuk, First Deputy Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer production, has reported an outbreak of African swine fever at a farm in Poltava. The World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) reports that the outbreak was first noticed on 31 August and confirmed on 1 September after apolymerase chain reaction (PCR) test was carried out at theState Scientific and Research Institute on Laboratory Diagnosis and Veterinary and Sanitary Expertise.
