Armenia will import neither pork nor poultry from Russia because of reports of outbreaks of African Swine fever (ASF) and Avian Influenza (AI) that have hit this country. According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) and the Russian veterinary watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor, Armenia decided to ban the imports of poultry and pork from Russia to prevent the ASF disease and bird flu from entering the country. Russia's agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor has announced that it introduced temporary restrictions on the import of pork from Bulgaria due to concerns regarding the African swine fever (ASF) outbreak detected in the Balkan state. The restrictions apply also to live pigs, pig embryos and boar sperm, as well as sheep and goat products, as reported by Emerging Europe.
