Russia to win back crown of world’s top wheat exporter despite looming quotas & export tax

Russia will retake the lead in global wheat exports in spite of an upcoming grain export quota and wheat export tax, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) said in the latest industry outlook. According to the forecasts of global grain and oilseed production, Russia will become the top exporter in the 2020-2021 season that ends on June 30. In the previous season, sales of wheat from Russia, which had been the world’s number one exporter for several years in row, was outpaced by the EU. Russian poultry industry braces for low prices in 2021

Prices for both poultry and pork are set to decline in Russia in 2021 against the backdrop of continuing production growth and weak domestic demand. Damate restarts duck production in Russia
