A solemn ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the construction of new poultry production sites of the Smena Breeding and Genetic Center took place in the Moscow region. The launch of the large-scale project was given by the Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev and the governor of the region Andrey Vorobyov. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

For the implementation of the project, which is the most important stage of import substitution in agriculture, the Government of the Russian Federation allocated 4.5 billion rubles in 2022. According to plans, the facility will be put into operation in the spring of 2023.

The new complex will include 5 research and production sites with poultry houses and an incubator. In addition to the production of hatching eggs, scientific work will be carried out here to improve the cross.

After putting into commercial operation, the breeding plant will annually produce up to 1.3 million day-old chicks of ancestral forms and 23 million heads of parental forms. Its capacity will meet the needs of Russian poultry farms.

As the head of the Ministry of Agriculture noted, the state will continue to support the work of the breeding and genetic center. In general, according to him, the volume of state support in this area, taking into account the need for accelerated import substitution, has increased significantly. Preferential loans are currently available for the construction and modernization of breeding reproducers of the first and second orders. In addition, this year it became possible to reimburse part of the capital costs for these purposes.
