The press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Dagestan reports that in the Babayurtovsky district, in the north of the republic, the construction of a livestock breeding complex for the industrial cultivation of buffalo is being completed - the second in the country and the first in the region.

Recently, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Sharip Sharipov and scientific consultant, representative of the Federal Agrarian Research Center in Dagestan, professor, doctor of veterinary sciences Magomed Baratov visited the site of the Sector LLC farm on a familiarization visit.

The head of the enterprise, Ahmed Gasanaliev, said that the company, created on the basis of a cooperative, has been raising buffaloes for more than 20 years. During this time, their team studied scientific materials, the experience of colleagues, innovative livestock technologies and chose a wetland for a farm for 250 animals in the Terek floodplain, the most favorable for this animal species.

Now the farm of LLC "Sector" contains 245 buffaloes of the Caucasian breed. After completion of finishing works and landscaping of the territory, the company plans to purchase equipment for the production of real mozzarella from buffalo milk and semi-finished meat products.

Among other things, the farm will become an excursion object. A grant for the development of agritourism was allocated by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia this year. In addition to buffaloes, "Sector" is ready to show the guests of Dagestan horses of the Akhal-Teke breed, sheep and cows of the dairy direction of productivity.
