Today, Russia has created its own database of breeding resources for 13 types of farm animals. This was stated by the head of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, Dmitry Patrushev, at the “Russia” exhibition and forum held at VDNKh, reports our correspondent who was present at the event.

The minister believes that this became possible thanks to the serious support of the state. At the same time, he noted that the import of genetic material remains only in some areas of livestock farming.

Patrushev called another important future event the creation in the country of an information and analytical system of tribal resources in the near future. For now, it will include only a few species of farm animals. And all 13 mentioned above will appear in the database by 2026. Let us note that this measure will allow us to create complete and transparent information about all the breeding potential available in the country and avoid related violations.

The head of the Ministry of Agriculture also recalled that last year the country completed the implementation of a project to build a unique breeding center in the Moscow region, where a breeding herd of the domestic cross of meat chickens “Smena 9” is raised. Today we wrote that President Vladimir Putin highly appreciated this selection achievement of domestic poultry farmers. In turn, Patrushev noted that it will help in fulfilling such a priority task as ensuring in the country by 2030 at least a quarter of poultry meat production based on domestic selection.
