Statistical data on the production of organic products in Russia will be compiled in a new unified database on organic agriculture. The system will show a real picture of the state of production of these products in the Russian Federation, Roskachestvo reported.

It is clarified that all relevant information on organic production in the country will be collected by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation. This way it will be possible to keep up-to-date and objective statistics on the amount of organic land, livestock, and production volumes.

“These statistics will also help to reflect the real picture in international reports, including The World of Organic Agriculture Statistics & Emerging Trends, published by FiBL (Swiss organic agriculture research institute), which is used around the world to provide information on the state of the industry. In the future, this will simplify the integration of information and ensure its reliability in relation to the Russian Federation,” the department noted.

According to Roskachestvo, the Voronezh region is in the lead in the number of certified producers of organic products based on the results of the first six months of this year. 17 manufacturers are certified here. In second place is the Krasnodar Territory (12 producers). The third place is occupied by the Moscow region (11 enterprises).

In the ranking, we can highlight the Tula region, where a big leap has been made over the past year; now there are five manufacturers in the region. Roskachestvo added that in the first half of 2024, the Republic of Altai and the Kurgan region were included in the list of “organic” entities for the first time.
