Sergey Levin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Russia, and Park Chong Soo, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Northern Economic Cooperation of the Republic of Korea, discussed increasing agricultural trade and the development of rural areas. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.

The Republic of Korea is one of Russia's key trading partners in agriculture. In the 11 months of this year, trade turnover between the countries increased by 42% compared to the same period last year, to almost 2.4 billion dollars. As Sergey Levin noted, Russia is interested in increasing supplies of grain, livestock, fish, oil and fats, and confectionery products.

The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of continuing work to ensure mutual access of agricultural products. Thus, Russia received permission to export dairy products to Korea this November and also expects decisions to allow domestic beef and poultry products to enter the Korean market soon.
