The announcement was made by Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dmitry Patrushev at the 27th edition of Gulfood, which is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
This year, over 60 domestic producers of grain, meat, dairy, confectionery products, and beverages brought their goods to the world's largest food industry exhibition. The stands of the Russian companies are located in four thematic pavilions of Gulfood 2022, covering a total area of over 700 square meters. During a tour of the exposition, the Minister noted that the partnership in agriculture with the Gulf countries is strategic, and Russia is interested in further strengthening the relationship.
"Russia is already meeting its own needs for basic foodstuffs, and in many categories production significantly exceeds domestic consumption. This allows us to dynamically increase agricultural exports and expand the range of supplies, including to the markets of Middle Eastern countries. In particular, we have seen positive dynamics in trade since the beginning of this year. In January, the trade turnover of agricultural products with the countries of the Persian Gulf increased nearly three times. And the main share is accounted for by Russian exports," said Dmitry Patrushev.
The exhibition includes business meetings of the Ministry representatives and domestic exporters with foreign partners dedicated to the promotion of agricultural products to the markets of the Middle East region.
