It is planned to build an agro-industrial park in Balashov to collect and prepare agricultural products for further deliveries to China by rail.

In a recent interview, China's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Russian Federation Zhang Hanhui (张汉晖) said that China has accumulated a lot of containers that were previously used to transport goods to Europe. The PRC government found it expedient to use them to deliver goods from Russia.

Now regional government bodies are choosing a site where warehouses and elevators will be built. It will unite the export potential of the Saratov region, Mordovia, as well as the Penza and Ulyanovsk regions.
