Annual inflation in Russia in February 2024 accelerated to 7.69% against 7.44% in January 2024. In monthly terms, consumer prices increased by 0.68%, according to Rosstat data.

According to statistics, food products in February 2024 rose in price by 0.77% compared to January 2024; in annual terms, the price increase was 8.08%. Non-food products rose in price by 0.26% month-on-month and by 6.59% compared to February 2023. The cost of services increased by 1.06% by January 2024 and by 8.45% in annual terms.

An increase in prices in February was noted for certain types of fruits and vegetables, including white cabbage (+10.4%), cucumbers (+8.6%), grapes (+8.1%), beets (+7.3% ), carrots (+5.3%), tomatoes (+4.9%), onions (+4%), bananas (+2.3%), apples (+2%), potatoes (+1.6 %). Prices for oranges (-9.8%) and lemons (-8%) decreased.

Among other food products, prices for olive oil, chocolate-coated cheese curds, fruit juices (+1.8%), salted herring (+1.6%), semolina, cakes (+1.4%), beef, lamb, salted herring fillet, salt (+1.3%), butter, Hercules oat flakes, ice cream, vodka, coffee in fast food establishments, lunch in a restaurant (+1.1%), fish fillet, grape table wine (+1%), beef, pork liver, canned fruit and berries for baby food, yoghurts, soft chocolate-coated candies, peas and beans, chocolate (+0.9%), pasteurized milk, sour cream, fermented milk products, salted, pickled, smoked fish, oatmeal and pearl barley, gingerbread, fast food products (Hamburger sandwich), dinner at a restaurant, carbonated drinks, chewing gum (+0.8%).

At the same time, buckwheat (-1.5%), chicken meat (-1.2%), chicken legs, black tea bags (-0.9%), millet (-0.7%), and chicken eggs fell in price and green tea (-0.6%), margarine, bee honey, black long tea (-0.3%), boneless pork, sunflower oil (-0.2%), chilled and frozen cut salmon fish, turkey meat , frozen squid, noodles, natural and ground coffee beans (-0.1%).
