According to the information system of the Rosselkhoznadzor FSIS "Argus", according to the results of 2021, Russian exporters sent record volumes of beef, pork, horse meat and finished meat products to foreign markets. The supply of poultry meat was also at a consistently high level. In general, the export of meat products increased from 579 thousand tons in 2020 to 585 thousand tons in 2021.

Beef

For 12 months of 2021, 31 thousand tons of beef were sent from Russia abroad - almost 2 times more than in 2020, when this figure was 15.9 thousand tons. The main buyer of this type of meat was China, where 20.1 thousand tons of beef were supplied, which is 2.3 times more than in the previous year (8.7 thousand tons).

Among the main importers of Russian cattle meat in 2021 is also Kazakhstan, which purchased 2.2 thousand tons of products. Export there has grown 2 times, from 1.05 thousand tons.

Saudi Arabia closes the top three countries to which Russia supplied the largest volumes of beef. Exports to this country in 2021 amounted to 2 thousand tons, the volume of shipments increased by 18% (for 12 months of 2020, 1.7 thousand tons were delivered to Saudi Arabia).

In total, domestic beef was supplied to 23 countries this year.

Pork

Pork exports increased by 7%. In 2021, deliveries abroad amounted to 124 thousand tons. In 2020, this figure was 115.4 thousand tons.

The main importer of Russian pork, Vietnam, purchased 53.2 thousand tons of this meat, which is 8% more than in 2020 (49 thousand tons). Exports to the territory of Ukraine, the second largest importer of Russian pork in terms of purchases, remained approximately at the level of last year and amounted to 32.3 thousand tons. Shipments to Belarus increased by 34% - from 19.3 thousand tons to 26.1 thousand tons. Shipments to Mongolia increased significantly - by 97% (from 2.59 thousand tons to 5.1 thousand tons) and Kazakhstan - by 37% (from 3.49 thousand tons to 4.79 thousand tons).

In total, pork was supplied to 15 countries in 2021.

Horsemeat

Horsemeat exports are also growing. Shipments of this type of meat abroad increased 6 times from 224 tons in 2020 to 1.4 thousand tons in 2021.

The main buyer is Kazakhstan, 1.3 thousand tons of products were sent there. In 2020, only 177 tons of horsemeat were delivered to this country. 

Meat products

In 2021, 73.8 thousand tons of finished meat products were exported, which is 33% higher than in 2020 (55.2 thousand tons).

Shipments to Kazakhstan increased by 33% (44.7 thousand tons against 33.5 thousand tons), by 48% - to Ukraine (10.7 thousand tons against 7.3 thousand tons), by 32% - in Azerbaijan (5.4 thousand tons against 4.1 thousand tons), by 13% - to Belarus (3.6 thousand tons against 3.1 thousand tons), 2.3 times - to Kyrgyzstan (1, 98 thousand tons against 846 tons), by 40% - to Abkhazia (1.99 thousand tons against 1.4 thousand tons), by 34% - to the special administrative region of China - Hong Kong (1.1 thousand tons against 824 tons).

In total, finished meat products were exported to 23 states.

Poultry meat

Exports of poultry meat and offal have traditionally been high in 2021. 287.5 thousand tons were sent abroad (in 2020 - 298.7 thousand tons).

Leading buyers are China - 121.7 thousand tons, and Ukraine - 38.7 thousand tons. The shipments of poultry products to Saudi Arabia almost doubled. If in 2020 15.7 thousand tons were exported to this country, then in 2021 - 31.1 thousand tons. 22.5 thousand tons were delivered to Kazakhstan. Exports to Vietnam increased 1.6 times from 8 thousand tons to 12.9 thousand tons. Shipments to Belarus increased significantly - 7 times (from 992 tons to 7.01 thousand tons), Benin - 4.5 times (from 1.2 thousand tons to 5.6 thousand tons), Uzbekistan - 1 .7 times (from 3.2 thousand tons to 5.6 thousand tons), Serbia - by 88% (from 1.3 to 2.4 thousand tons), Congo - by 6% (from 4.1 thousand . tons up to 4.3 thousand tons).
