Over the past two years, Belarus and Vietnam have become the largest importers of Russian pork and other pig products. As reported by Piginfo, such data were presented at an extended meeting of members of the Board of Directors of the National Union of Pig Breeders (NSU) by the organization’s general director and member of the ROSNG Expert Council Yuri Kovalev.
According to him, the import of this food to the first country increased by 12 percent or to 91.8 thousand tons, and to the second - by as much as 89 or to 86.1 thousand. Data for several other countries were also provided. The most noticeable of these during this period was the increase in supplies to Serbia - by 169 percent to 9.6 thousand tons.
In the first half of this year, exports to this country increased by 64 percent to 2.9 thousand tons. 43 and 36.8 thousand tons were supplied to Belarus and Vietnam, respectively. For the same period, data is provided for two more countries. Deliveries to Hong Kong over the six months of this year increased by almost the same amount - by 63% or up to 2,100 tons. Shipments of pig products to China have just begun and amounted to 9.1 thousand tons.
Favorable market infrastructure in the global pork market was cited as the reason for the increase in exports. We are talking about a decrease in the exchange rate of the ruble and domestic prices for this meat. You can also give your reasons for individual importers. For example, Belarus and Serbia are priority markets due to the fact that they are friendly countries and there are no logistical problems with supplies to their territory. China, Vietnam and Hong Kong are also friendly countries and traditional importers of pork due to their historical traditions of consuming this meat.
