The press service of the central office of Rosselkhoznadzor reports that from September 21, the domestic market will open for the import of live cattle from Brazil.
The access of Brazilian livestock farmers to the domestic market was announced by the head of Rosselkhoznadzor Sergei Dankvert on Tuesday, September 19, during negotiations with the Secretary of Trade and International Relations of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil Roberto Serroni Perosi in Moscow.
The representative of Brazil added his signature to the draft international veterinary certificate, previously signed by all EEAC member countries.
The negotiations focused on strengthening cooperation, reaching a new level of development of trade in agricultural products between Russia and Brazil, adjusting the range of mutual supplies and lifting previously introduced restrictions.
Sergei Dankvert announced the readiness of Rosselkhoznadzor specialists to organize an inspection of Brazilian farms interested in exporting cattle to Russia. The parties agreed to conduct the visit at the end of November 2023.
In turn, Roberto Perosi said that the list of Russian exporters of agricultural products to Brazil will be expanded. Now there are 10 companies in it: suppliers of vegetable flour, feed and feed additives for animals and fish.
