The Veterinary and Life departmental publication of the Rosselkhoznadzor, citing data from the National Union of Poultry Breeders (NSP), reports that by the end of 2022, Russia's dependence on imports of hatching eggs will decrease to 12%.By the end of 2022, Russia's dependence on imports of hatching eggs will decrease to 12%

In his speech at the international exhibition "KormVet-2022", which took place last week, NSP General Director Sergey Lakhtyukhov specified that the volume of purchases of hatching eggs from foreign producers has been steadily declining for three years in a row. In 2020, 700 million units were imported, in 2021 - 600 million units, in January-July of this year - 256 million units.

If the dynamics remain unchanged, then by the end of 2022, the volume of purchases of hatching eggs in foreign markets will not exceed 400-420 million pieces, and import dependence in this segment will be only 12%, the expert stated. According to the NSP forecast, by the end of 2023, the TOP-20 Russian poultry producers will fully provide themselves with hatching eggs from their own breeding reproducers. Already now, the leaders of the industry have formed its surplus of about 100 million pieces.
