According to preliminary data from the Agroexport federal center under the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, for 11 months of 2023, the total volume of supplies of pork and pork by-products of Russian production amounted to almost 237 thousand tons, TASS reports.
Executive Director of the National Meat Association (NMA) Sergei Yushin does not rule out that by the end of this year the total volume of domestic meat exports will exceed 750 thousand tons in physical terms and will approach $2 billion in monetary terms. He clarified that the positive dynamics are especially clear in the pork and lamb segments.
Year-on-year, lamb exports increased almost ninefold in January-November, while pork and pork by-products increased by 68%. The largest importers of Russian meat during this period were Vietnam, Belarus and Mongolia. Last year Russia exported 650 thousand tons of meat.
