Russian government approved the procedure for the distribution of tariff quotas for the import of meat of cattle (beef) and poultry in 2022. Such a resolution of the Cabinet comes into force on December 2.
According to the document, the tariff quota for fresh or chilled cattle meat is set at 40 thousand tons, including 29 thousand tons for supplies from the European Union and 11 thousand - from other countries. The maximum level of frozen meat is set at 530 thousand tons. It is assumed that a maximum of 60 thousand can be brought to Russia from the European Union and the United States, 3 thousand tons - from Costa Rica, 407 thousand - from other countries, RIA Novosti reported on November 24.
The tariff quota for poultry meat and food products from it is established in the amount of 364 thousand tons. The largest volume - 250 thousand tons - is provided for frozen halves or quarters of carcasses and chicken legs. Frozen turkey meat accounts for 14 thousand tons.
