The company joined a business mission of agricultural exporters on their trip to Serbia to prospect the market.
Cherkizovo Group, Russia’s largest meat producer, joined a business mission of agricultural exporters on their trip to the Republic of Serbia. At meetings with local meat processors and traders, prospects for increasing deliveries of Cherkizovo’s products to the Serbian market were discussed. Besides representatives of the Serbian business community, visitors to the Company’s stand included official figures such as Dmitry Patrushev, Russia's Minister of Agriculture.
The events staged by the business mission of Russian agricultural export companies to the Republic of Serbia took place in Belgrade on June 29 and July 1. On the Russian side, the events were attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Agriculture and Federal Center Agroexport, representatives of the largest Russian industry associations and major Russian agricultural companies, including Cherkizovo Group.
Cherkizovo Group held around 20 meetings with Serbian business representatives, including the largest meat processors (MK Group, Neoplanta, Yuhor, Carnex, Zlatiborac), retailers (Metro, Mere) and restaurant operators (Silbo). Discussions focused on the prospects for cooperation with Cherkizovo in meat deliveries to Serbia for both subsequent processing and sale of finished products (including sausages) at local retail outlets. The Group has been exporting chicken fillet for processing in Serbia since 2021.
“Meetings with the Serbian business groups were of particular importance for engaging into a future trade dialogue. Serbia is a very attractive market for our products, as the country with a well-developed meat-processing industry faces a shortage of locally produced meat, which we could help alleviate not only with the supplies of our chicken products but also through turkey and pork deliveries. Growth of Russian exports to Serbia is further supported by the historical and cultural ties between our nations, favorable political climate and economic conditions propitious to exporters,” commented Andrey Terekhin, Head of Industry Unions and Government Relations at Cherkizovo Trade House.
