The National Union of Poultry Farmers has released its 2020 ranking of Russian poultry producers. Just as last year, Cherkizovo Group came out on top, having produced 794,000 tonnes of meat (hereinafter in live weight). According to the Union, the Group exceeded its 2019 results by 28,000 tonnes, or 3.7%.

The 2020 growth in broiler meat production was driven by the capacity ramp-up at the factories in Kursk and Altai, major focus on chicken health and quality, and volume increase delivered by all Group factories. Last year was mostly successful for the Company’s poultry segment, with greater sales of Petelinka and Kurinoe Tsarstvo products and increased poultry exports, primarily to China.

With 708,000 tonnes of broiler meat production in 2020, Resource Group was ranked second by the Union. This puts Cherkizovo 86,000 tonnes ahead of its closes rival. The Top 5 producers in the market also include Prioskolie (435,000 tonnes of broiler meat produced), Tkachev Agrocomplex (350,000 tonnes) and Belgrankorm (275,000 tonnes).
