The confrontation between the US and China over Taiwan increases the risks for the Taiwan Strait, which is the main shipping route from China, Japan, South Korea to European and US markets. Maxim Fasteev, a leading analyst at Infagro, wrote about this in his telegram channel.
“This year, almost half of the world's container fleet and a whopping 88% of the largest ships by tonnage have passed through this route. The standoff between the US and China over Taiwan increases the risks to one of the busiest trade routes in the world - even a minor disruption to the movement of ships can destroy supply chains, ”he was quoted by Bloomberg.
Earlier, Maxim Fasteev noted that in June, China reduced cheese imports by 34.9%, to 9.6 thousand tons.
