All news / Consumer prices for chicken meat continue to rise in Russia

The departmental publication of Rosselkhoznadzor “Veterinary Medicine and Life” reports that, according to the Rosstat report on changes in consumer prices for the period August 29 to September 4, chicken meat rose in price by an average of 1.5% last week.

In some regions, price increases were more significant. An increase in the price of chicken ranging from 0.1 to 10.2% was recorded in 76 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Retail prices decreased only in four (by 0.1–0.8%). Since the beginning of the year, their growth has reached 19.63%.

In the same week, prices for semi-smoked and cooked-smoked sausages increased by an average of 0.7%, boiled sausages and eggs - by 0.6%, sausages and small sausages - by 0.3%. In general, the increase in prices for sausages since the beginning of this year is estimated as insignificant (1.84–2.66%).

Three types of red meat (beef, pork and lamb) increased in price evenly over the week - by 0.2%. At the same time, the average price of lamb has increased by 12% since the beginning of the year, and the price of pork by 9%.
