Russia's largest mutton processing plant Kavkaz-myaso opened in Karachay-Cherkessia. The enterprise was reconstructed by Damate Group of Companies with the support of the Russian Agricultural Bank (RSHB). The production capacity will be 25 thousand tons of meat per year. Rosselkhozbank invested 2.3 billion rubles in the project, and the total cost of the project amounted to 3.4 billion rubles, the bank's press service reports.
According to the official announcement, the plant has an automation system from fattening to slaughter. According to the Chairman of the Board of Rosselkhozbank Boris Listov, the enterprise will provide the region with 500 new jobs. It is noted that all engineering systems have been modernized at the enterprise and new high-tech equipment from leading manufacturers has been installed.
As part of the reconstruction, a complete modernization of all engineering systems and production facilities of the enterprise was carried out: red meat deboning lines were installed, the production of large and small-sized semi-finished products with a capacity of 30 tons per day was launched, the plant will produce 4 tons of sliced marinades and 4 tons of minced meat and kupat daily. . The enterprise will produce 12.8 tons of meat and bone meal per day.
Thanks to the launch of the enterprise, high-quality natural semi-finished products from lamb meat, minced meat, marinades and canned food under the Bazarko brand will appear on the market. The products will be certified according to Halal and Kosher standards.
“About 50 thousand people are employed in the sheep breeding industry of the republic in related areas, many of the agricultural producers will be able to participate in this project in the future. And the creation of new jobs is one of the primary tasks for public authorities,” commented the head of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Rashid Temrezov.
According to RSHB estimates, over the past 10 years, mutton production in Russia has been steadily growing at 2% per year. Last year, the volume of production of small cattle amounted to 213 thousand tons.
“The new investment project “Damate” is aimed at reviving sheep breeding in the North Caucasus and supporting farming, which for centuries has been a typical occupation of the people of the region. In global terms, this is the launch of niche lamb meat in demand on the market, which is an important contribution to the country's food security. Our project also has a significant social effect, it is expressed in the creation of new jobs, in the deduction of taxes and in the economic development of the territory,” said Naum Babaev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Damate Group of Companies.
