The opening of pork exports for Russian suppliers to China was discussed during the recent visit of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin to this country, Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko said in an interview with RIA Novosti at SPIEF.
In March, she stated that Russia was "dreaming" about the supply of pork to China, was negotiating about it and would continue to do so, and that domestic enterprises were ready for the corresponding checks by the Chinese side.
"The Chinese Customs Committee and the Rosselkhoznadzor are in constant dialogue on opening pork supplies from the Russian Federation. During his May visit, Mikhail Vladimirovich (Mishustin) also raised this topic. We continue the negotiation process," Abramchenko said.
She added that in general, Russian agricultural exports to China increased by 40%. "The directions are known - grain, we supply spring wheat, spring barley there. We are negotiating the supply of winter crops and the opening of more Russian regions," she concluded.
