The Russian Ministry of Agriculture recently announced ambitious plans to increase pork and poultry exports by 2024. At a meeting with the heads of specialized enterprises and industry unions, target indicators were named: 310 thousand tons of pork and more than 400 thousand tons of poultry meat. These plans are aimed at implementing the presidential decree to increase exports of agricultural products by at least 1.5 times compared to 2021.

One of the key points of discussion was the development of the supply of live pigs, pork and by-products, as well as meat and poultry by-products. These areas are considered priorities for the further expansion of Russian exports to world markets.

According to the Agroexport federal center under the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, in 2023, the volume of supplies of pork and offal to foreign markets reached a historical record of 255 thousand tons, which means an increase of 66% compared to 2022.

These achievements pose a challenge for Russian manufacturers not only to increase production volumes, but also to ensure high quality products that will meet international standards. This requires the introduction of innovative technologies into production processes, as well as improved efficiency of logistics and marketing strategies.

Russian exports of pork and poultry meat have great potential for further growth on the world stage. The strategic plans and targets announced by the Ministry of Agriculture open up new prospects for the development of the industry and strengthening Russia’s position in the world markets for meat products.
