In 2024, beef cattle farming in Russia continues to demonstrate steady growth, which became the subject of discussion at a meeting of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture with key meat producers and representatives of industry unions. Under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister Maxim Titov, important aspects were considered, such as production volumes, price dynamics and prospects for the development of the sector.
It is important to note that in January-April of this year, the volume of livestock and poultry slaughter increased by 4%, reaching almost 4.5 million tons. Cattle production increased by 9.4%, and pig production increased by 8%, indicating positive dynamics in the industry.
However, along with the growth in production, the Ministry of Agriculture focused attention on the price situation on the market. Now there is a slight increase in meat prices, which is typical for the warm season. Industry representatives emphasized the importance of price control to ensure the availability of meat products for consumers in conditions of increased demand.
Maxim Titov emphasized the need to prevent sharp price fluctuations and the importance of maintaining stability in the meat market. The business community pledged to continue working to ensure a stable market situation, taking into account the social significance of meat products.
According to forecasts of industry unions, in the near future, meat prices will begin to traditionally decline, which will help maintain the availability of products for a wide range of consumers.
Thus, the development of the meat industry in Russia continues to move forward, while it is important not only to ensure sustainable production, but also to maintain a balanced pricing policy, taking into account the interests of both producers and consumers.
