The egg direction of poultry farming in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) is represented by five poultry farms, including those in the liberated territories.
These enterprises are engaged in breeding laying hens, which, in turn, bring the volume of food egg production in the republic to 200 million per year. This is reported in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the DPR.
The total number of laying hens at egg farms is almost 1.3 million heads. The share of direct Donetsk production in the total consumption of food eggs is 78%, which makes the policy of import substitution for this category of agricultural products extremely successful.

It must be said that in order to support egg-poultry enterprises, the leadership of the DPR introduced a seasonal customs duty of 25% and a year-round import customs duty of 15% from May to August, which allows increasing the price competitiveness of Donetsk eggs in relation to imported ones.
