EAEU countries will achieve self-sufficiency in meat and eggs in 2023. According to Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk, there are agreements on the balance of supply and demand for the five EAEU countries for the most important types of agricultural products.
The countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) will become self-sufficient in poultry meat and poultry eggs in 2023, Alexei Overchuk, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, told reporters at the Eurasian Congress on Friday.
“If we talk about food security, the EAEU countries today provide for themselves in a number of areas. First of all, we fully provide ourselves with grain and even exceed it, we provide ourselves with vegetable oil, lamb, pork. This year I expect that we will reach the 100% for poultry and poultry eggs. For other important positions, we also exceed 95%," Overchuk said.
He noted that at present there are agreements on the balance of supply and demand for the five EAEU countries for the most important types of agricultural products, which guarantees the provision of food to the citizens of the EAEU.
On June 8-9, the Eurasian Congress, meetings of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS countries, the Third Eurasian Congress and the international exhibition "Eurasia is our home" are being held on the site of the Sirius federal territory.
