Egg production in Russia in January-June 2023 in farms of all categories increased by 2.5% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 23.3 billion eggs, according to Rosstat.

During this period, the gross milk yield in farms of all categories amounted to 16.6 million tons, which is 3.2% higher than the figure for the same period last year.

Production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight also increased by 2.6% to 7.6 million tons.

According to Rosstat, at the end of June 2023, the number of cattle in farms of all categories amounted to 18.2 million heads (1.1% less compared to the corresponding date of the previous year), of which 7.8 million cows (by 0.8% less). The number of pigs amounted to 28.9 million (3.8% more), sheep and goats - 23 million (0.9% less).
