The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia expects in the near future the adoption of a draft law developed by the department on regulating prices for socially significant goods with an increase of more than 30%. The head of the department, Maxim Shaskolsky, told reporters about this.
“I think at the beginning of the year. We have practically agreed on everything,” he said, answering a corresponding question.
According to Maxim Shaskolsky, this will be a reserve mechanism for the antimonopoly agency to control prices.
“In order to launch it, it will be necessary to carry out an analysis. The Ministry of Economic Development will give a conclusion that such a situation exists. Only then will it be used. There is no such risk that the mechanism itself will work and cause damage to business entities - this is not the case.” , - he said.
The head of the FAS did not indicate which categories of goods could now be subject to such regulation. At the same time, he noted that such a mechanism could be used in relation to chicken eggs, which have become more expensive in recent months.
