Russian Federal Customs Service offered to expand the food bargo. In the list of prohibited goods may appear canned meat and fish, crustaceans and mollusks, sturgeon caviar, olives, as well as canned tomatoes and other vegetables, fruit juices, mashed potatoes and jams, writes RBC. In 2018 the Russian Federation purchased such products for $ 1.2 billion.
The initiative is designed to eliminate the possibility of importation of prohibited goods through the declaration of their codes "goods cover", not included in the list. The proposal of the FCS is now being considered by the Ministry of Agriculture.
It is noted that the ban may also include fresh and chilled lamb and goat meat, some by-products, eggs, honey and onion.
