According to the results of eight months of the 2022-2023 agricultural year, the production of feed, compound feed and their components in Russia increased by a third - from 16.7 million tons to 22.4 million tons. Ekaterina Semenova, director of the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Center for Grain Quality Assessment” in Moscow and the Moscow Region, spoke about this at the international exhibition “Meat Industry. Chicken king. Refrigeration industry for the agro-industrial complex / MAP Russia & VIV.

Export of animal feed for this period and as of May 18 increased by 14% - from 3.6 million to 4.2 million tons. The main buyers of Russian feed were Turkey, which accounted for 56% of the total supply, as well as China, Belarus and Germany.

“Imports of feed and compound feed decreased by 4 times - to 0.2 million tons, which was the minimum figure in recent years,” said Ekaterina Semenova.

The production of sunflower meal over the past agricultural year increased by 8% - up to 6 million tons. “There is a slight decrease in exports from 1.4 million tons to 1.3 million tons. At the same time, four countries showed record volumes. 339,000 tons were sent to China, 48,000 tons to Germany, and 30,000 tons to the Netherlands,” she added.

Meal imports decreased by 23% to 1.4 thousand tons. At the same time, the entire volume of imported sunflower meal fell on Kazakhstan.

The production of soybean meal in Russia last season increased by 13% to 4.5 million tons. Its production is expected to increase this agricultural year. Over the past period, there was more than a twofold increase in exports of soybean meal - from 202 thousand tons to 501 thousand tons. Belarus imported 154 thousand tons, Germany - 111 thousand tons, Turkey - 80 thousand tons. “Import of meal decreased by almost 80% - to 161 thousand tons. The main exporter is Argentina,” said Ekaterina Semenova.

The production of rapeseed meal reached a record 2 million tons. The export of this product increased from 189 thousand tons to 257 thousand tons. “The export map has expanded to 11 countries, 8 of which showed record growth in purchases,” she said. In particular, 43 thousand tons were sent to Latvia, 33 thousand tons were purchased by Spain. In addition, for the first time rapeseed meal in the amount of 68 thousand tons was purchased from Russia by Israel.

Imports of rapeseed meal continue to decline. According to the results of the past agricultural year, it fell by 82% at once and amounted to only 8 thousand tons. Belarus remains the main supplier of rapeseed meal to Russia.
