Food prices in Russia in September 2021, compared to September 2020, show a significant increase. AB-Center analyzed the dynamics of 121 products, of which a decrease is observed only in 4 products. At the same time, an increase in food prices of over 25% is noted for 10 products, over 10% - for 51 products.

Note that inflation in the country for the year (if we compare September 2020 and September 2021), according to the inflation calculator on the website inflation rate.rf, was 7.33%. The rise in prices above the inflation rate is demonstrated by 80 goods out of 121.

Leaders in the growth of food prices

To a greater extent, the increase in prices for the year, according to AB-Center calculations, affected such food products as: cabbage (+ 88.9%), potatoes (+ 55.7%), lemons (+ 38.3%), beetroot ( + 35.0%), carrots (+ 34.7%), salmon caviar (+ 32.4%) and onions (+ 32.0%).

Foods showing price increases of over 10%

In addition to the goods of the first group, a significant increase in prices (by 10% and more) in AB-Center is noted for mayonnaise, nuts, granulated sugar, sunflower oil, chilled and frozen chickens, fresh tomatoes, dried fruits, margarine, beef liver, fresh cucumbers, chicken eggs, garlic, buckwheat-kernels, canned fish natural and with the addition of oil, chicken legs, live and chilled fish, national cheeses and feta cheese, chilled and frozen fish cut salmon breeds, lamb (except boneless meat), peas and beans, salted, marinated and smoked fish, pork (except for boneless meat), beef (except for boneless meat), culinary products from poultry, canned fish in tomato sauce, Hercules oatmeal, oat and pearl barley, bananas, cookies, marshmallows and pastilles , vermicelli, pears, canned meat for baby food, boneless beef, pasta made from premium wheat flour, semi-smoked and boiled-smoked sausage, canned tomato, preserves, jam and jam, cheeses lured, boneless pork, dumplings, manti and ravioli, frozen uncut fish, creamy ice cream, gingerbread.

In addition to the above-mentioned in the first and second groups of goods, the price increase above the inflation rate (7.33%) is demonstrated by such goods as: semolina, salted herring fillets, bakery products made of premium flour piece, muffins and rolls, wheat flour, condensed milk with sugar, minced meat, ketchup, curd cheeses glazed with chocolate, carbonated drinks, natural canned and pickled vegetables, cakes, salted herring, green tea, bread and bakery products from wheat flour of grades 1 and 2, sausages and sausages, turkey meat, boiled sausage, bread and bakery products from premium wheat flour, canned fruits and berries for baby food, bread from rye flour and from a mixture of rye and wheat flour, fish fillets, cereal flakes (breakfast cereals), smoked sausage, roll products, smoked meats, soft sweets glazed with chocolate, mineral and drinking water, canned meat.

Foodstuffs whose price increases are below the inflation rate

The rise in prices below the inflation rate (lower than by 7.33%), according to AB-Center calculations, was noted for caramel, domestic sparkling wine, cocoa, grapes, black long tea, table grape wine (dry, semi-dry, semi-sweet) with a strength of up to 14% vol. alcohol and content up to 8% sugar, fortified grape wine with a strength of up to 20% vol. alcohol, canned vegetables for baby food, butter, fat cottage cheese, fermented milk products, sour cream, frozen squid, hard and soft rennet cheeses, natural chocolate candies and with additives, sterilized whole drinking milk 2.5-3.2% fat, tea black bagged bagged, frozen uncut shrimps, frozen vegetables, salted and smoked fish delicacies, olive oil, natural bee honey, natural instant coffee, pasteurized whole drinking milk 2.5-3.2% fat, chocolate, natural coffee beans and ground, cut frozen fish (except for salmon breeds), polished rice, yogurt, low-fat cottage cheese, fruit juices, black pepper (peas), table salt, coffee in fast food organizations, vodka with a strength of 40% vol. alcohol and higher, domestic beer, beer of foreign brands.
