Milk production in the Russian Federation in the first quarter of 2023 decreased by 1.9% compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 1.4 million tons. This is stated in the materials of Rosstat.

"In March 2023, 492.1 thousand tons of milk were produced, which is 3.4% less than in March 2022, but 8.1% more than in February 2023. For the first three months of 2023, milk production decreased by 1.9% compared to the first quarter of 2022, amounting to 1.4 million tons," the ministry said.

According to Rosstat, butter production in March amounted to 29.2 thousand tons, which is 8.5% and 22.3% more than in March 2022 and February 2023, respectively. In the first quarter of 2023, butter production increased by 10.6% compared to the same indicator in 2022, amounting to 78.3 thousand tons. Sour cream production amounted to 45.5 thousand tons, which is 7.1% more than in March 2022, but 1.7% less than in February 2023. Sugar production in the first quarter increased by 2.4 times compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 506.3 thousand tons. "White beet sugar in March 2023 produced 66.5 thousand tons, which is 49.9% more than in March 2022, but 4.3% less than in February 2023. The ministry also reported that the production of wheat and wheat-rye flour in March amounted to 735.1 thousand tons, which is 10% less than in March 2022, but 6% more than in February 2023.
