A vegetable meat developer has launched the production of ecofar dumplings and sausages. Reported by Welldone.
A Russian startup started selling dumplings and sausages made from vegetable mince. The first batch will be transferred to federal retail chains and food delivery services by November 20.
For the development of each product, the startup approved a special mince. For example, two types of dumplings appeared, one used coriander, and the second used onion and garlic.
For the first time in Russia, an edible vegetable casing based on alginates was used for sausages – this is a natural polysaccharide that can be obtained from sea brown, red and other green algae.
We are working to form the entire usual assortment of meat products, but made entirely from plants. By the end of 2021, we plan to launch products in Moscow and St. Petersburg, and in 2022 – to start sales in the regions, - Alexander Kiselev, co-founder and CEO of Welldone.
In July, the startup raised $ 1.5 million from the Russian fund Phystech Ventures and the international Lever VC to expand its product range and increase production volumes to 130–150 tons of vegetable meat per month.
