The growth in the number of breeding cattle of dairy breeds in the Krasnodar Territory for 6 years amounted to 22% (+18.8 thousand heads). This was announced in an interview with TASS by the governor of the region, Veniamin Kondratyev, writes The DairyNews.

He noted that the region is replacing low-productive livestock with high-value ones, which will further contribute to the growth of gross milk production.

“The Kuban farms keep almost 217 thousand cows, which is 2.2 thousand heads more than last year. We produce 40% of the total milk in the Southern Federal District. We expect that in 2022 the total regional milk yield will be no less than in the past: about 1.5 million tons. Productivity has increased today - an average of 8.7 tons of milk is received from one cow in the Kuban. And by 2030 we plan to reach at least 10 tons,” said Veniamin Kondratiev.
