The output of food products in April 2023 increased by 5.4% compared to April 2022. In January-April 2023, food production increased by 4.9% compared to the same period last year, according to Rosstat data.
In particular, an increase in production was observed in meat and meat products: meat of cattle, pork, lamb, goat meat, horse meat - by 8.7% over the four months of this year, steamed pork, cooled or chilled - by 8.5%, chilled poultry meat - by 4.4%, meat and meat-containing semi-finished products - by 7.4%. True, the production of boiled sausages slightly decreased (by 1.1%).
The production of frozen fish also increased - by 14.1% at once. But there is a drop in the production of fish fillets: fresh or chilled fillets - by 3.2%, and ice cream - immediately by 26.4%. The output of canned fish decreased by 9.5%, preserves - by 5.1%. From dairy products, the production of butter (by 9.5%), cheese (by 16.4%), sour cream (by 7.6%) increased. However, the production of milk (by 2.2%) and cottage cheese (by 6.7%) decreased.
The Statistical Office also records a reduction in the production of flour, bread, rice and buckwheat. Thus, wheat and wheat-rye flour was produced by 4.1% less, bakery products of non-durable storage - by 1.2%, pasta - by 10.3%, rice - by 10.1%. On the other hand, the production of buckwheat increased slightly (by 0.8%). Production of unrefined sunflower oil increased by 4.5%, refined - decreased by 0.1%.
70.2% more sugar was produced in the first four months of 2023. The production of chocolate and confectionery products with sugar increased by 8.2%.
