Stavropol lamb production continues to show impressive growth, supported by government support measures. According to the latest data, lamb production in the region for the current year has increased by 11% compared to last year. This important growth was made possible thanks to the allocation of almost 35 million rubles to sheep farmers in the Stavropol Territory to support production.

Development of sheep farming in the Stavropol Territory

Sheep farming is a socially significant sub-sector of livestock farming in the Stavropol Territory and continues to receive support measures within the framework of the regional state program "Agricultural Development". This year, the amount of allocated funds amounted to 34.9 million rubles, which is twice as much as last year.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture Viktor Fetisov noted that the development of sheep farming with state support is a principled goal. 22 agricultural producers received a full subsidy for lamb production, and the total volume of subsidized meat amounted to 3.4 thousand tons.

Currently, it can cover the entire market of the Stavropol region, as well as a number of subjects of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts, as well as countries of the Near Abroad.
