A cargo of frozen boneless horsemeat arrived in the port of St. Petersburg from Mexico. Its mass was 24 tons. The cargo belonged to one of the companies in St. Petersburg engaged in wholesale trade.
During veterinary control, a specialist from the Rosselkhoznadzor Directorate for St. Petersburg, the Leningrad and Pskov Regions discovered that there was no prior notification from the Mexican State Veterinary Service about the arrival of the products.
Due to a violation of veterinary legislation, the movement of goods has been suspended; a protocol on an administrative offense has been drawn up in relation to the owner.
