Iran and Russia signed a memorandum of understanding on long-term grain purchases. The agreement is part of both countries' strategy to strengthen trade relations in agriculture and food processing.
The memorandum was signed during a visit to Moscow by an Iranian business delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Agricultural Jihad for Trade Mojtaba Nouruzi. During the visit, the parties discussed issues of developing cooperation in the field of agriculture, food industry and logistics.
In particular, the parties agreed to create inspection and quarantine groups at the borders to reduce veterinary risks during the export of Iranian dairy and seafood products. The parties also exchanged views on solving logistics problems and technical knowledge in the field of production of feed for livestock and poultry based on the resources available in the region.
