On December 18, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Gulmira Isaeva announced the lifting of restrictions on the import of live pigs and pork from 19 regions of Russia.

The lifting of the ban is confirmed by a letter from the Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan sent to the Rosselkhoznadzor. Restrictions on the supply of pig products from the Russian Federation to the domestic market of Kazakhstan were introduced due to the unfavorable epizootic situation of African swine fever in 19 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and were lifted due to the absence of ASF outbreaks confirmed by the OIE.

The list of Russian regions that have received the right to resume the export of pigs and pig products to Kazakhstan is published in the message of the Rosselkhoznadzor. The press service of the department notes that the relevant information has not yet been updated on the website of the Committee for Veterinary Control and Supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
