Russia is discussing with South Korea the expansion of trade in the agricultural sector. The meeting of the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Sergei Levin and his foreign colleague Park Chon-soo took place at the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that Korea is one of the leading partners of Russia in the agricultural market. This is also evidenced by statistics: for example, for 11 months of 2021, the mutual trade volume amounted to about $ 2.4 billion, which is 42% more than in the corresponding period last year. According to the Russian Deputy Minister, the Russian Federation is ready to increase shipments of grain, confectionery, fish, fat and oil and livestock products to the Korean market.
At the same time, the Russian side notes the need to continue negotiations to ensure mutual access to agricultural goods. The Russian Federation already has certain successes: in November Korea opened its market for Russian dairy products. Russia expects to build on this success: there are expectations for the imminent opening of the Korean market for the export of cattle meat and poultry products.
