All news / Livestock and poultry production in the Russian Federation increased by more than 3% over 8 months

During January - August of this year, Russian agricultural organizations increased the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight) by 3.4 percent from the same period last year or to 8.679 million tons. This was reported by Rosstat.

The largest share was made up of poultry - the figure for them increased by 0.7 percent or to 4.3 million tons. In second place are pigs, for which it increased by 5.9% or to 3.639 million tons. Cattle (cattle) production was 701,100 tons (up seven percent). Also, the production of goats and sheep increased by 22.1% to 16.9 thousand tons.

At the same time, last month was unsuccessful for cattle. Its livestock during this period decreased by 1.1 percent or to 7.988 million heads. The separate indicator for cows decreased by the same amount, which in exact figures amounted to 3.177 million.

Data on some types of products is also provided. In particular, milk productivity over the specified period increased year-on-year by 5.8 percent or to 13.476 million tons. During the same period, 25.463 billion eggs were produced (+3.1 percent).
