The volume of livestock and poultry production for slaughter in live weight in the first quarter of 2023 in Russia increased by 3% compared to the same period in 2022 and reached 3.8 million tons, the press service of Rosstat writes.

Including the production of livestock and poultry in agricultural organizations increased by 4.3%, to 3.2 million tons. The production of these products in households in the first quarter decreased by 4.3%, to 456.4 thousand tons, in peasant (farmer) farms and individual entrepreneurs, this indicator decreased by 1.4%, to 95.8 thousand tons.

Milk production during this period increased by 3.7%, to 7.3 million tons, including in agricultural organizations the growth was 6.4%, to 4.9 million tons. Milk production in households in the first quarter decreased by 2.2%, to 1.8 million tons, in peasant farms and individual entrepreneurs, this indicator increased by 1.5%, to 564.4 thousand tons.

Egg production in Russia in the first quarter of 2023 increased by 3.9%, to 11 billion pieces, including egg production in agricultural organizations increased by 4.8%, to 9.6 billion pieces. The volume of egg production in households in January-March decreased by 2.5%, to 1.3 billion pieces.
