The fastest growth in terms of production in Russia is shown by the pig and poultry industries, the Ministry of Agriculture said. The total production of livestock and poultry enterprises has reached 2 million tons in live weight, half of which is poultry.

In the first two months of 2022, production volumes by industry reached the following figures:

cattle - 163.5 thousand tons (+5% compared to the same period in 2021);

pigs - 790.3 thousand tons (+5.3% compared to the same period in 2021);

sheep and goats - 3 thousand tons (+ 12.3% compared to the same period in 2021);

poultry - 1.03 million tons (+9.7% compared to the same period in 2021).

The Ministry of Agriculture also cited data on milk production, 2.98 million tons were produced in January-February, which is 3.3% more than in the same period in 2021. Egg production in Russia in the first two months of 2022 reached 5.93 billion eggs, an increase of 2.8% compared to last year.
